The idea behind these mugs was to let the black clay speak for itself. The mugs are coated with a transparent glaze inside and out, retaining the natural colour of the black clay.
These mugs were made with black stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and were fired to 1,200 degrees centigrade in an oxidation atmosphere. The glaze is food-safe and dishwasher-safe. These mugs haven't been tested for microwave-safety so exercise caution. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
