This wheelthrown bottle-shaped vase is glazed in a striking purple glaze. The glaze breaks perfectly on the grooves of the vase. Wherever applied thick, the glaze has developed crystals making you want to look at it again and again. The vase has a glossy finish, smooth to touch. Heavy reduction has turned the clay body into dark brown, with speckles which is a striking contrast to the textured purple glaze all over.
The vase were made with black stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and were fired to 1,300 degrees centigrade in reduction atmosphere. The glaze is food-safe. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
