Dark Brown Marbled Vase - Bottle

This wheelthrown bottle-shaped work was made by combining 2 different types of clay, giving it a 'marbled' look. 3/4th of the pot is glazed with dark brown glaze, while leaving the bottom part unglazed so you can see the beauty of the clay as well. The glaze looks different on each clay type - lighter brown on the white clay and a rich dark brown on the dark clay. The pot also has a few pinholes that have been deliberately left as is as they look like 'craters,' making you look more closely and appreciate the imperfect beauty of firing in ceramics.

This decorative vase was made with white stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and was fired to 1,300 degrees centigrade. The glaze is food-safe. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
