This stunning, wheelthrown, bowl for snacking and serving evokes the tranquil beauty of the ocean with its unique glaze and elegant form. It is glazed in a serene, blue-green glaze that shifts from the deep, cool tones of the sea floor at the base to a lighter, frothy blue-green at the base. The glaze is applied intentionally to mimic the ocean waves. It is translucent as well as opaque making you look more closely.
These bowls were made with white stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and were fired to 1,200 degrees centigrade in an oxidation atmosphere. The glaze is food-safe. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
