This wheelthrown jar features a rugged, highly textured aesthetic with a deep, iron-rich espresso finish. The design is characterized by its wide, overhanging rim and a domed lid topped with a sharp, pointed finial, giving it a slightly architectural or ancient feel.
The body of the jar is artfully distressed with a heavy, speckled white glaze that mimics the look of natural weathering or sea salt spray. Circular white rings on the lid highlight the potter’s throwing marks, emphasizing the authentic, handmade process.
The jar were made with black stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and were fired to 1,200 degrees centigrade in an oxidation atmosphere. The glaze is food-safe and dishwasher-safe. The jar hasn't been tested for microwave-safety so exercise caution. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
