This lidded jar celebrates the raw beauty of clay, featuring a striking contrast between its dark, unglazed exterior and a luminous interior. The low, cylindrical form is grounded and modern, topped with a gently domed lid and a minimalist knob.
The exterior showcases the natural, matte texture of deep brown-black clay, accented by a series of rhythmic, hand-carved notches that wrap around the base like a feathered trail. When opened, the jar reveals a smooth, white-glazed interior, providing a clean, functional contrast to the rugged outer shell.
The jar were made with black stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and were fired to 1,200 degrees centigrade in an oxidation atmosphere. The glaze is food-safe and dishwasher-safe.
