This wheelthrown piece has a textured surface, with round cut-outs in various sizes for the light to reflect. The glazes used are textured blue and dark brown that compliment each other and the textured surface of the luminary beautifully. The glaze has a matte-satin finish. Keep a tealight or a string of lights inside the pot and see how that space comes alive with a dramatic, 360-degree starburst pattern across the walls and ceiling of a darkened room.
This luminary was made with white stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and was fired to 1,200 degrees centigrade. The glaze is food-safe. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
