This wheelthrown round piece has a deeply carved exterior, defined by a series of diagonal, sweeping grooves that wrap around the vessel. The exterior of this pot is glazed in Shino glaze which compliments the brown slip settled into the grooves all over. The inside is glazed in a dark brown glossy glaze. The distinguishing feature of this pot is its 'torn' rim. The glaze has a matte-satin finish, with some glossy parts.
For those who follow minimalism, this piece holds on its own, and looks equally beautiful with dried or fresh flowers.
This decorative vase was made with white stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and was fired to 1,200 degrees centigrade. The glaze is food-safe. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
