This wheelthrown vase features a tall, cylindrical form with a graceful taper toward the base. The vase is glazed with a single iron-rich glaze that responds to the iron-rich clay body and the shape of the vase. There are shades of ochre, charcoal, blue, grey that can be seen all over the vase, making it a piece that you cannot stop looking at - there's a surprise waiting in each part.
The vase were made with black stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and were fired to 1,200 degrees centigrade in an oxidation atmosphere. The glaze is food-safe and dishwasher-safe. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
