This wheelthrown ovoid body tapers down to a narrower, stable base. The silhouette is characterised by a high, rounded shoulder that transitions into a short, concave neck and finishes with a thickened, slightly flared rim.
It has a matte-satin finish in most places, with a sudden, glossy finish in a small portion. 3 different glazes were used to give this piece the look that it has - splashed and poured all around the vase, making its beholder look twice.
The vase were made with black stoneware clay on the pottery wheel and were fired to 1,200 degrees centigrade in an oxidation atmosphere. The glaze is food-safe. Handwash highly recommended with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
